Choir

The parish choir is composed of children and adults who assist with the worship life of parish singing. We are always adding new voices to our program; if you are interested in joining the choir, please contact Elizabeth Boydston.

9:00am Sung Mass

Currently, we do not have weekly rehearsal. Youtube videos are sent each week and the choir meets in the choir loft at 8:30AM prior to the 9:00AM Mass.

Evening masses during the week, do have a rehearsal approximately one hour before the beginning of the mass. this is usually 6PM. Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Easter, do have longer rehearsals, schedules permitting.

 Joining our choir:

Participation in providing music for the Mass is a liturgical ministry akin to service at the altar. It requires a serious commitment of time and effort. We would love to have you with us if you discern a call to serve the church in this way. Please contact Elizabeth Boydston, Director of Music, if you would like to join this ministry.

Anyone 18 and older who would like to join the choir must take the Safe Environment training and be approved. Please see Father Davis for more information.

Our Lady of Grace Choir’s hope for the future:

We hope to begin building vocal and musical skills, fostering teamwork, and experiencing a vast treasury of sacred music, by the utilization of a chorister training program from the Royal School of Church Music called Voice for Life through which our younger singers work toward specific level objectives to earn medals. The RSCM supports a worldwide network of over 8,000 churches, schools, and individuals. It is committed to achieving the best use of quality sacred music in liturgy through education, training, publications, advice, and encouragement. To earn medals, singers must display mastery of the workbook objectives and successfully complete written and sung exams administered by the Director of Music.
